We will not be hosting Story Time Tuesday, March 6th. Please stay safe and warm while we wait out the winter storm!
Come join us and members of FBLA at the Library where we will be celebrating the holiday by making Gingerbread Houses and Christmas Trees, Wednesday, December 27th at 1:30 p.m. Children of all ages are welcome to join in on the fun!
We are SO proud of our Hazen readers! We had 135 kids register for the Summer Reading Program and more than 50,000 minutes were read by them. Grand prizes were awarded to four happy kids, along with prizes to kids that returned their reading slips to the Library. We hope they continue reading throughout the school year…and remember to use our online resources and library for homework help throughout the school year. If you need more info about the resources or if we can help your student, please call us. The winners of the Ezyrollers were Treston Sinclair and Jenneva Ward. Morgan Peterson and Harper Brandt each won a basket full of summer supplies. Congratulations to all of them – they were in the library several times getting new books to read!
Also, a huge “Thank You” to our sponsors for this year’s program. We so appreciate partnering with businesses to make our programming successful. Included in that list are Basin Electric, Coteau, Coyote Station, GRE, Hazen Hardware Hank, IBEW Local 1593, Krause’s Market, Roughrider Electric, Subway, Union State Bank, Scheels, Target and Walmart.
Join us for story hour again on Tuesdays starting at 10:30 a.m. The kickoff will be Tuesday, September 12th. Miss Metta will lead storytime again with sessions featuring stories, rhymes, maybe a song, some movement and a craft. It’s a great place to meet other parents and children and socialize…make new friends! All children are welcome! Moms and dads are asked to stay with their children during storytime in case their attention span can’t quite last through the activity. Reading to children at a young age is so very important and storytime is just one more opportunity your library offers our children for early literacy. We hope you are able to enjoy some time here at the library!
In conjunction with the City Wide Rummage Sale, the Friends of the Library will be holding a used book sale at the Hazen Public Library Friday, August 25th from noon until 6:00 and Saturday, August 26th from 8:00 – 2:00. Lots of books, periodicals and encyclopedias are available. Come check us out!
